Beth Prince

November 14, 1922 — July 12, 2013

Beth Ola Gubler Prince, 90 years old, passed away July 12, 2013 surrounded by family and compassionate caregivers at Teton Peaks Assisted Living Home. She was born to loving parents Samuel Robert and Laura Viola Gubler on November 14, 1922 in Santa Clara, Utah at her grandparent's home. She grew up on the family farm in Ivins and often spoke of what a good life it was.

Beth excelled academically and was an enthusiastic member of the Pep Club. She was beautiful, friendly, and was voted 1st Attendant to the Queen for the Harvest Ball. She was Student Body President and graduated Valedictorian of her senior class.

Beth married the love of her life, Douglas Fletcher Prince on May 22, 1941 in the St. George Temple. They were blessed with 13 children, four girls and nine boys. Beth supported her husband and children in their many activities, studies, and dreams. Two years after her last child was born she became a grandmother, thus continuing her legacy of love and service to future generations. Her posterity now includes 82 grandchildren and 132 great-grandchildren.

She served faithfully in many Church callings including Relief Society President, Primary President, and LDS Social Services Case Worker. Once her children were raised, she and Douglas served three missions, including West Indies (Jamaica), Pennsylvania Pittsburgh (where Beth shared in the responsibilities assigned to her husband who was the Mission President), and Missouri Independence (Liberty Jail Visitors Center).

Beth is survived by her sister, Dona (Dennis)Hoilman, and her children and spouses: Peggy (David) Miller, Leon (Leah) Prince, Gwen (Leland) Mecham, Bill (Julie) Prince, Frances (Kerry) Williams, Warren (Emma) Prince, Julia Prince, Sam Prince, Leland (Wende) Prince, Kim (Gayla) Prince, and Sheila (Brent) Knight. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas, sons Steven, Danny, and Donald as well as by her brother, Eldon, and sister, Mary. Funeral and burial services will be held Monday, July 22, 2013 at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah. Viewing 11:30 a.m. and Services 1:00 p.m.
