Carol Marcum

Carol Maurine Hamblin Marcum age 84 was born 29, April 1930 to Joseph Cyril and Annie Milne Hamblin in Victor, Idaho. She passed away 19, December 2014 in her home with her husband, Thomas Dale Marcum, daughter Mary Ann Jordan, grand children Paige Jordan Atkinson, her husband, Stephan Atkinson being present at the time of passing. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the Western States Mission 1950-1952. She married Thomas Dale Marcum Sr. 11 February 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. They worked at Coulter Bay, WY for two years and Carol Maurine served with Dale as Rangers from 1985-1992 at Treasure Mountain Scout Camp, Alta WY. She and Dale received the Golden Gleaner and Master M-Men awards in the LDS Church. They both were involved with scouting and received the Teton District Award of Merit and Silver Beaver Council Awards. They were chosen in 2014 to be the Grand Marshalls for 4th of July Victor Parade. Maurine and Dale Served a mission to Zimbabwe Africa 1992-1994 for the LDS Church and in the Nauvoo temple 2004 and Idaho Falls and Rexburg temple for 22 years. Carol Maurine loved to serve others, bake, garden, quilt, write letters, and note cards to everyone plus many other acts of kindness. She taught Dale how to quilt and they quilted over 100 quilts for the humanitarian services of the church. She dedicated her life to serving others. She was succeeded in death by her parents; Cyril and Annie Hamblin, two sisters; Ruby Hamblin and Rita Hamblin Williams. She is survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters; Lorna (Roy deceased) West of Diamondville, CA, Earl (Joan) Hamblin of Tetonia, ID, Karen (Vern) Little of Parker, ID, Paul (Thelma) Hamblin of Bountiful, UT, Francis Jeppesen Hamblin (Paul's Divorced wife) of Brigham City, UT, and LaRee (Lewis) Cramer of Ucon,ID. Her children: Thomas Dale Jr. (Susan) Marcum of Victor, ID, Paul Alma (Sonja) Marcum of Murray, UT and Mary Ann (Layne) Jordan of Fruita, CO. Her grandchildren: Adele Marcum, Collette Marcum, Alex Marcum, Paige Jordan Atkinson, Sydney Jordan, and Kacey Jordan. A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 28th, from 7:00-8:30pm at the Victor LDS Church, 87 E Center St, Victor, ID 83455. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 29th, at 11 am with a viewing prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:45am at the Victor LDS church building. Internment will be held at the Victor Cemetery following the funeral service.
