Helen McKague

Helen Hardy McKague, age 73, of Idaho Falls, Idaho died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Helen was born Feb. 2, 1941 in Burley, Idaho to Jay and Leah Hogan Hardy. She had lived many places in her life including: Burley, Idaho; Stevensville,Montana; Pocatello, Idaho; Las Vegas, Nevada and Idaho Falls, Idaho. While in Montana she met this handsome sailor, Carl McKague. They were married on February 19, 1960 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

After Carl finished school at Idaho State University, they moved to Las Vegas where they raised their 6 children. Helen taught many children how to play the piano, she also was a substitute school teacher. They were foster parents for several children.

She loved to go camping with her family. She loved music, playing the piano and organ and singing in choirs. She was active in the L.D.S. Church holding many callings.

She is survived by her husband; 4 sons: Steven McKague of Idaho Falls; Scott (Sherry) McKague of Driggs, Idaho; Kent McKague of Idaho Falls and Lamar (Claudine) McKague of Vancouver, Washington; a daughter Beverly Roberts of Idaho Falls; 17 grandchilden and 1 great-granddaughter; a son-in-law Mark (Selena) Miskin of Alta, Wyoming.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Beth Miskin.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the L.D.S. Church at 3700 E. Lincoln Rd., Idaho Falls. A visitation will be on Tuesday from 7 - 8:30 P.M. at the church and then from 9:30 - 10:45 prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Firth Cemetery.
