Lorene Moffat

October 10, 1916 — October 7, 2011

Lorene Little Moffat, of Driggs, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Friday the 7th of Oct. three days prior to her 95th birthday at the home of her son Greg and Saundra Moffat in Rexburg, Idaho At the time of her death she was surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Rexburg Home Health/Hospice.

She was born October 10, 1916 in a two-room cabin on Dry Ridge, near Clawson, Idaho. Her father, Spencer Basil Little and her mother, Marie Campbell Little, homesteaded the property where she was born. The cabin has recently been restored by the current owners. She grew up attending schools in Clawson and graduated from Teton High School, Ricks Academy, and later Utah State University

She married Willis Moffat on June 19, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They then lived in Driggs where Willis barbered and served as Teton County Magistrate. After raising her children she taught school until she retired.

She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout her life, always serving others. She and her husband were called to serve two LDS missionsa�"one to the West Indies and one to Palmyra, New York. They also served as officiators in the Idaho Falls Temple for many years.

She is survived by three sons, Blake (Shirley) Moffat of Mesa, Arizona, Greg (Saundra) Moffat of Rexburg, Idaho, and Mike (Phyllis) Moffat of New Market, Tennessee; a daughter, Marsha (Boyd) Fullmer of Lehi, Utah; a sister, Verna Allen of Medford, Oregon; 18 grandchildren; and 39 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two children, her parents, three sisters, one brother, and two grandsons.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Valley Mortuary in Driggs. The funeral will be conducted in the Driggs Idaho Stake Center on Friday the 14th of October, 2011 at 12 noon. A viewing will be held at the stake center beginning at 10:30. Interment will be at the Cache/Clawson Cemetery.
