Lula McBride

Lula Mecham McBride, age 91, of Victor, Idaho died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her daughter's home in Rigby, Idaho.

Lula was born November 22, 1919 in Carey, Idaho to Parley and Jean Foote Mecham. She married Walter McBride on April 20, 1939 in the Salt Lake City, Utah L.D.S. Temple. She lived in Teton Valley with her husband Walter who later died on August 30, 1995.

She was active in the L.D.S. Church. She was very artistic: She became very proficient in quilting, painting landscapes, still life and toll painting. She gave family and friends the quilts and sold a few. She was a very good seamstress and loved to teach others her craft. She loved music: singing and dancing and had a great sense of humor. She also loved to play games with family and friends. She was an avid reader and was instrumental in helping to establish the Victor Library.

She is survived by her son Richard (Virginia) McBride of Victor; 2 daughters: Moana (Eldon) Mikesell of Rawlins, Wyoming and Margaret (Ole) Widerburg of Rigby, Idaho; 2 sisters: Clea Guisasola and Lois (Boyd) Stocking ; 27 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, 3 children: Walter James "Jim" McBride, Carol Jewkes and Robert McBride and 2 step-grandchildren Christine Zundel and Kathy Walker; brothers: Willis LeGrand, Elden, Loyd and Parley James and sisters: Eva Donetta Hansen and Catherine Tolman.

Funeral services will be on Thursday April 28, 2011 at 11:00 at the Victor L.D.S. Church with a visitation on Wednesday night from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M. at the Church and then from 9:30 - 10:30 prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery in Victor, Idaho.
