Max Jorgensen

October 28, 1919 — August 30, 2010

Max Donald Jorgensen 90, of Driggs, Idaho peacefully passed surrounded by loved ones. He was embraced by our heavenly father, his wife Hattie Mae and three sons Willard, Gary and Jack. His faith became his sight on Aug 30th 2010.

Max was born on Oct 29th 1919 to Willard and Sarah (McCracken) Jorgensen in Hamer, Idaho. He lived there until they moved to the family farm in Tetonia. Max lived in Teton Valley his entire life. Anyone that knew Max knew he always had a passion for life ,spending time with his grandchildren and great grand children, breaking horses, hunting, dancing and lending a helping hand to any one in need.

He served our country in the Armed Forces during World War II. He enjoyed seeing and talking about all the places , people and things he did while serving. After his service was over he came back to the Valley and met the love of his life Harriet Mae Cordon. They were married June of 1948 They had three sons, Willard, Gary and Jack.

Max worked for the State Highway department for 33 years before retiring. He also had various jobs throughout his life that always involved helping others.

Max was preceeded in death by his parents Willard and Sarah, his brothers Sheldon and James (Jim), his sister Emma, his wife Hattie Mae of 49 years, his three sons Willard, Jack and Gary. He is survived by his four loving granddaughters, Liz, Kate, Joelle and Valerie, Grandson Brandon and a niece Elmoine. He also has nine great grandchildren that kept him smiling.

A viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday September 1st, 2010 from 7-8:30p.m.at Valley Mortuary at 786 Valley Centre Drive in Driggs, Idaho. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. with a service an hour priorat the Valley Mortuary in Driggs, Idaho with burial at Cache-Clawson Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sarah, Michelle, and Susan of Creekside Home Health and Hospice. Memorial contributions can be made to Creekside Hospice.
