Orin Beard

Orin Beard, age 84, of Tetonia, Idaho passed away at his home on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Orin was born Oct. 1, 1927 in Chapin, Idaho to James Thomas and Rachel Woolstenhulme Beard. He attended elementary school and graduated from Teton High School in 1945. After graduation he worked with his father and brothers in the lumber and cattle business. He had a yoke of oxen that appeared in several movies filmed in Jackson, Wyoming. On Aug. 7, 1952 he married Donita Mae Larson at Ashton, Idaho. They moved their home to his father's ranch near Tetonia where they engaged in farming and raising cattle. Donita passed away in 1999. He enjoyed calf roping and appeared in many local rodeos often taking first place. He always had a good saddle horse and a favorite cow dog. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Orin is survived by his children Jeff (Tena), Jan and Jared all of Tetonia; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister Sherry Zohner; a brother Virgil Beard both of Driggs. He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; 3 brothers; 2 sisters and 2 great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tetonia L.D.S. Church under the direction of Bishop Brent Robson. A visitation will be on Wednesday from 7 - 8:30 P.M. at the church and then from 9 - 10:45 prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery.
