Phyillis Phillips

April 11, 1923 — January 14, 2019

Phyllis Cecil Phillips (nee Maxey), 95, of Rupert ID, passed
away January 14, 2019, in Victor, ID while under the care of
family and friends.

She was born to the late Dona and Wint Maxey, April 11,
1923, in Rupert, ID. After attending local schools, Phyllis
entered the teacher training program at the State Normal
School in Albion, Idaho.

During WWII, Phyllis worked for Western Union and
relocated to California in support of the war effort. In
California she met Jack Philips of Santa Cruz, CA. They
married in Oakland, CA in 1946. Together they raised two
children, Bill and Barbara, in Scotts Valley, CA.
In 1989 Phyllis returned to Idaho to live on a portion of the

family farm where she grew up. She kept a cozy home and
tidy garden and you could always be guaranteed to find a
happy dog in attendance.

Phyllis is survived by son Bill Phillips wife Lynn Takash, of
Victor, ID; daughter Barbara Phillips husband Roger Hylton
of Santa Cruz, CA; grand daughter Angel Phillips husband
Eric Womeldorff; great grandson English Phillips; and a host
of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased
by her loving husband Jack in 1976.

Phyllis always spoke her mind without reservation which
helped make all of us better people for knowing her.

No service has been scheduled. The family requests that
people make donations in support of the American Heart
Association, in lieu of sending flowers.
