Richard Knight

Richard Thomas "Tom" Knight, 79, of Driggs, Idaho, died January 10, 2009 at EIRMC surrounded by his family.

He was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on March 2, 1929 to Ester Couser and Frank Knight, He is the second of five children.

Tom spent most of his childhood in Pennsylvania before serving in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked in construction after his discharge, eventually settling in California. In California, he hired onto the Costa Mesa Fire Department where he ultimately served as Battalion Chief.

He married Barbara Ann Jensen of Jackson, Wyoming on December 12, 1959. They made their home in Costa Mesa, California where they raised their daughter.

He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1963.

After retirement from the fire department, Tom and Barbara moved to Driggs in 1978 where he started a new profession as a realtor.

Tom loved to work, shoot clay birds, do wood working, fulfill his church callings, and spend time with his family. He has been serving as Stake Clerk for the last 25 years through five different stake presidencies.

Survivors include His wife Barbara, Daughter Shauna Jamison St. George, UT., Six grand-sons Josh (Dixie) Jamison rexburg, ID, Jarrod (Shelly) Spanish Fork, UT, Eric Jamison (Beth) Folson, CA, Kyle Jamison (Dayna) Las Vegas, NV, Mark Jamison St George and Todd Jamison St George; nine great grand children; and three sisters, Helen Lubic, Margaret Zarowski, Toots Bernadowski

Funeral Services will be Saturday January 17 at 11 A.M. at the Driggs LDS Church. A viewing will be Friday January 16 from 6-7:30 P.M. at the church and at 9:30 A.M. . The services are under the direction of Valley Mortuary.
