William "Bill" Vrabec, age 68, of Driggs, Idaho, died suddenly in Driggs on Saturday, May 23, 2009.

Bill was born May 4, 1941 in Port Townsend, Washington to John and and Hazel Wilson Vrabec. He served in the Navy. He married Cathy Decker, they were later divorced and he married Lou Slotte on July 6, 1969 in Midvale, Utah. They lived in various times in Raymond and Aberdeen Washington; Salt Lake City, and Bountiful, Utah; Winnemucca Nevada and Saint Anthony, Idaho before moving to Driggs in 1994. He was an active member of the L.D.S. Church.

He worked as a logger in Washington, Oregon and California. He worked as a commercial fisherman. Later he owned and operated Bill's Auto in Raymond and most recently he was alwasys an inviting face at the Chevron station in Driggs. He loved to fish, hunt, play cards and he loved to visit with everybody.

He is survived by his wife; 2 sons Jeffrey Vrabec of Aberdeen, Washington and John (Jessica) Vrabec of Victor, Idaho; 2 daughters Arlene Lopez of Hoquiam, Washington and Amanda Vrabec of Boise, Idaho; 3 sisters: Maryann Barrett of Alaska; Leona LaSpina of California and Patricia Vrabec of Oregon; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Driggs L.D.S. Stake Center with a visitation on Wednesday from 7 - 8:30 P.M. at the Valley Mortuary and then from 9:30 - 10:45 A.M. Thursday prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Bates Cemetery near Driggs, Idaho.
